I wasn't able to really be in class that much this week. I thoroughly apologize for that.
I think I do need to say this though, Mr. A you're class is actually really important to me and the Anderson community. It not only teaches people to appreciate all the history of music but it gives kids a chance to speak their minds as adults. It's not just talking about basic facts but what our lives are going to be like once those facts mean nothing. Our countless debates on matters that will actually influence and come back in our later lives have opened my eyes beyond belief. I maybe just a softmore but because of your class I'm thinking about the outside world, going to college, getting a job, meeting someone (or having already met them), and having a life that matters instead of just... bleh in a desk.
I'm really sorry I wasn't able to be in you're class but that doesn't mean I think it means nothing. It's a place for minds to be free and I know not a lot of people say this, but it means the world to us.
SO, I wanted to go back to Zep. which was a pretty great album as all Led Zeppelin albums are.
We had a sub in guitar class since Mr. Bergdorf was rockin' course fair. I think her name was Ms. Sanda? But you could immediately tell, she was a total rocker chick at heart. Trying to be nice, I picked up a conversation with her. She knew how to play guitar!! (Apparently Mr. Bergdorf caught her playing which I think is perfect and hilarious.) I think she said she has a grandson on the way (YYAY). And Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath were some of her FAVORITE bands.
I started talking to her about how our class seemed to hate Zep. 1 and Zep. 2, which was really disappointing to me since we didn't get to listen to Black Sabbath. But she seemed SHOCKED that ANYONE could possibly not like them!!
I'm hoping you'll realize my connection to actual history of rock and roll in this is; it's not just about the music, but the fans, the life style, and the total amazing-ness of actually being there while this rock/metal revolution was going on! I really enjoyed talking to her and Mr. Bergdorf about the Zeppelin albums and everyone's opinions and perspectives.
This is a really abrupt ending but this blog was all over the place, sorry.
Thanks for reading :)
Have a great (now 3 day) weekend!
