I'm honestly terrified to post this blog, but I have nothing better to talk about so what ever. Recently in class we had a discussion with our always wonderful Christian, apparently he got into an argument with some girls because he said "that's gay" or something like that. But you know he won the argument because he "pulled our the c-word".
This literally made me so so so mad.
1) I don't freak out every time someone says something is "gay" but people need to realize that gay is not an insult, it is not a negative adjective, and no one should be offended by this word.
2) You do NOT "win" an argument because you got the last word. Especially if that word is just a vile and unnecessary word.
3) The second you realized they were insulted by your statement and that it obviously meant more to them than you could ever care you should of just SHUT YOUR MOUTH! Instead of downing yourself to a level where you just use vulgar language to "win" an argument, how about using those few brain cells you have left.
This may all affect me so much because I am gay. I just think that everyone is so stuck on the fact that queers (a term containing all sexual preferences instead of just gay and lesbian) are soo different from heterosexuals. This is
not true. Just because a man likes men doesn't mean hes going to go around raping other men. Like heterosexuals flirt with the opposite sex, homosexuals flirt with the same sex. All you have to do is
POLITELY tell them you're not gay. Just like you don't know if someone is gay, how can they tell? Insults, avoidance, and sings of disgust are not necessary!
Some other subjects that came up were not wanting to "be around" people who are gay. Well, Hi :) since we have a class together you are around me. Obviously I haven't affected your life in any way just because I prefer a woman over a man.
If I keep ranting this blog will get obnoxious and dishonest from anger. Soo..
Thanks for reading (Sorry for the abrupt ending)
Have a great weekend :)
